What do you remember most from the 90's?

Being a young Marine and a father.

I thought I was the only one who was going to mention this event. Last thing of the 90s I remember before a long string of long hospitalizations. Also, the steroid era of baseball.

My first nephew being born, we bought our first house, I work stinking hard to pay off our debt (not created by me…)to the tune of $63k, being abandoned for 5 months, then the return of ‘it.’
The start of mental health sessions, hospitalizations and meds.

Pokemon, Spice Girls and Aqua.

I really loved Pokemon. I played the games, watched the cartoon, and traded the cards.

I was also a real huge Spice Girls fan, I had a Spice Girls wallet and Spice Girls shoes.
I wore those shoes until they were beyond repair, and I cried so hard when my mother took me a to shoestore “just to look at some shoes”, found me a pair I kind of liked, and told me that now I had new shoes I could have the cashier throw out the old ones.

I felt so tricked! And I felt like I’d never own anything as awesome ever again, lol.

I think Courtney Love killed him and it wasn’t suicide.

But that’s just my opinion.

I remember a trip to Atlanta where we climbed Kennesaw Mountain, played video games at Dave and Buster’s, watched the Hawks play the Bulls when Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman were playing, took a visit to the Weather Channel studios (they didn’t normally do tours but my twin knew someone who worked there.), and CNN Studios as well… Those were the days before my twin and his wife had kids which would later put them deep in debt. At the time I was stable and working as a volunteer at the Library and that was the first time I took a vacation after I started working there. (I don’t take vacations as a rule these days and I haven’t been to Atlanta in years.)

I was with my x wife. We had endless conversation in the mornings drinking coffees away. I did my schooling and worktraining back than in Germany. Hard to believe how brainwashed I was. I really thought I am getting somewhere. But it was pushing a rock up the hill to see it rolling down.

I was a 70s child. My son watched all that stuff so I saw it all.

I got my first Windows computer in 1995. I still pay America Online to keep my email address even though I also have a free one with GMail. I haven’t used America Online software for years.

Remember when you used to have to dial in on the telephone line and connect at 28 bps?

@TomCat AOL email is free. I think you might be paying them for a service you don’t use.
