What causes anger and violence in the brain?

Any good scientific articles like pubmed? I was never angry until i stopped meds for 2years, damaged smth in my brain from long term untreated psychosis, my pdoc told me symptoms get worse the longer its untreated and may even become treatment resistant to all meds including clozapine

I read the amygdala is responsible for fear emotion and plays a role in anxiety

Anger starts with the amygdala stimulating the hypothalamus , much like in the fear response. In addition, parts of the prefrontal cortex may also play a role in anger. People with damage to this area often have trouble controlling their emotions, especially anger and aggression.

You should read more about comt and mao genetic variations. It’s very interesting!

Maybe one day we will have an antiaggression pill but for me the anger comes from sz and APs fix it

Do you know what triggers your anger? Do you have a reason why you get angry?

It only happens when I lower my risperidone, I get angry and rage at small stuff like when my parents yell at me, when my brother tell me to turn down music volume, when my father slams the door etc

Perhaps you feel like you don’t have enough personal space?

Ok, that’s weird. Vraylar makes me a little bit irritable that’s it.

I never get angry. But I do think there is something wrong with me.

I’ve been through situations where I needed to get angry but didn’t. It has caused me a lot of pain.

I like your comt article, it confirms what i read about negative and positive symptoms but more in details, positives are caused by high dopamine in dorsal striatum and negatives by low dopamine in the prefrontal cortex. There are no meds that do both at the same time, i read increasing norepinephrine by using strattera increases dopamine a bit in the prefrontal cortex

Too bad doctors don’t prescribe adhd meds off label. Otherwise I would try Strattera.

There are different genetic variations to the comt gene. And it’s known for causing psychosis in certain individuals.

Selfdecode?

Anger has always been a big issue for me. I have trouble expressing anger in an appropriate way, so a lot of it turns inward.
