What caused your psychotic episode?

I gather I have PTSD from an earlier traumatic incident.

But I’m from the generation where you’re just supposed to suck it up and deal with it on your own.

My major life event was the loss of the wife - and not seeing my daughter for 14 years.

That and copious amounts of booze and LSD.

Never had a stable teenage years either. I was a bloody nightmare to live with - and was forever getting nicked for stupid stuff and doing time in the nick.

My last breakdown was caused by a colleague with - i suspect - a borderline PD. She harassed and stressed me to the point of going to pieces. I shattered.

Covid 68? There was a pandemic while my Mom was pregnant with me.

Is that another type of coronavirus?

Lack of sleep and being cyber stalked for a month or so. When i woke up after staying up for 4 days straight, i had minor voices and my thoughts were erratic.

Lots of stress.

My anorexia and coming off a powerful antihistamine I’ve been taking for years. They’re just theories, though.

I’m also with you there
I hate this idea that it might never have got me
I was born autisticly strange and had addictive impulse control problems
Also my 2 sisters Also took drugs and both became schizophrenic
So maybe with the other variables I probably would have anyway

Mine was caused by the extreme stress of first year of nursing school, an abusive husband, a toddler, a part time job, and pot smoking all at the same time.

I think it has almost always been when I got off my med’s.

Lack of sleep and extreme stress (unessasary stress)

Too many hallucinogenic drugs (Marijuana,LSD,) coupled with too much stress. Could have been genetics too. I haven’t touched that stuff in 14-15 years now. It was a terrible experience to go through.

Stress. I was slowly falling apart as the symptoms crept up on me.

There was a pandemic in 1968-1969 called the Hong Kong Flu that killed a few million Worldwide but was less lethal in the US although it still killed between 150,000-200,000. My Dad had it during Christmas, 1968. I was born two months premature late in April. I don’t know if it was a coronavirus.

Drinking liqour make me crazy.
