I am reading this and a few other things.. it is very interesting…
I’m currently reading a meditation book by Thich Naht Hanh. It’s helping me be more mindful and control my breathing better. It’s a pretty easy read and doesn’t require too much concentration. I tried reading a Stephen King book a few months ago and it was hopeless, i just couldn’t focus on it anymore!
Ooh! I really like Thich! He is a very gentle person! Glad it’s helping you!
Moving to Lounge.
I’m not currently reading any books but when we stop getting all this rain I want to walk to my library and find some graphic novels to read. I really miss reading and I hope I can get back into it.
Theres some awesome graphic novels out there! I dont really read them much at all but have wanted to get into them for a while now. Excited for ya.
Does the author in that book claim humans dont really have free will?
@DNAsaur
Oh absolutely! Graphic novels are like a world unto their own. So many different genres and themes. That reminds me the creator of “Maus” was recently on a PBS show.
I read a biography of a former Belgian transwoman vice-prime minister yesterday.
The last book I read was First Blood a war waged against one man RAMBO by David Morrell.
In my room – or rather, the shared room with my boyfriend – there are already 17 books piled up from just a few months of our new life. Most of them have been started – and many are not even halfway read. I love books, but my relationship with them isn’t stable. It’s more chaotic ![]()
Hey, your book looks good @Ozzyskits
And yes, Robert Sapolsky believes we have no free will whatsoever, he is a neuroscientist and draws on research from many different disciplines. He says if you add environment, genes, biology, culture up there is no free will. He does quite a lot of long interviews on youtube if youre interested
@Montezuma i hope you find some cool graphic novels to read!
@anon17326926 sounds interesting!
Haha, i know what you mean @anon92236671 ! I realized i’ve been reading 9 books on the go and i’m still waiting for 3 in the mail!
Its a very rewarding hobby though
I have that same habit a lot too @anon92236671 haha. I own tons of books i havent finished because i get part way through it and then either run out of steam or switch to another book before finishing the first. Its an acheievement when i actually complete a book ive started haha.
Right now im reading schizophrenia.com forum
I’m a fan of that author. I really enjoyed A Primate’s Memoir and even gave it to someone as a gift once.
Here’s what I’m currently reading.
His work is definately interesting. That book looks like it may be triggering and healing to read, like a journey.
