What age were you when you developed schizophrenia?

Diagnosed at 19

I had Psychotic Symptoms since childhood but was officially placed on Navane (Typical Antipsychotic) and diagnosed with Schizophrenia at 21 years of age.

I was diagnosed around 22-23 but I developed symptoms of depression in my teens and had two suicide attempts before I was 21 and had hallucinations and delusions.

I was 22 or 23 years old

I think I’ve always had it, but I didn’t get diagnosed until 22. I remember vividly believing people were sabotaging my grades as a young child whenever I would do worse than I expected to.

I started having psychotic symptoms at 15 years old, but didn’t have my first psychotic break until I was 23. I was diagnosed bipolar with psychotic features at that time, only for it later to be changed to schizoaffective, bipolar-type.

I started having hallucinations at 9

I believe I was 24

16 started to get shaky, 17 was bad, 18 was worse, 19 was worse, 20 was worse, 21 a little better, 22 a little better

I first started hearing voices and suffering delusions just before my 18th birthday and was diagnosed a couple months later.

I was a grand ole’ 46! I had my first psychotic break in June of 2015, less than 2 years ago and I am 48. I guess I am fortunate to have lived many decades without a psychotic illness.

Started hearing voices and having delusions at 15. Diagnosed at 32 in closed ward. I kept away from doctors and psychologists.

I was diagnosed when I was nearly 19. Started when I was around 14 though.

I’m not sure if it came on when i was 6 or when i was 23 lol. I had my first real episode last january. I was diagnosed the week after the episode began. I thought it takes 6 months to get a diagnosis.

I think I would say right after I hit the first bit of puberty, age 12, I know as a kid I was paranoid about others and I was always different from others (especially as I hit puberty, was always known as the quiet quirky child in school and others were not friendly to me due to my quirkiness). I faked a smile or being happy to avoid being worried about. I had hallucinations about at age 15 where a therapist said I had an overactive imagination. I know I used to hallucinate imaginary music and see some weird things but due to not being in touch with reality, I’ve forgotten some things.
I’m 21, almost 22 now, and I had a break from ages 16 - 20 where I was on Concerta (a stimulant) and I had an involved parent and sibling, which helped quite a bit with my symptoms.
But come the past 6 months, I’ve had hallucinations and delusions (though both started very mildly and began to increase gradually). IF I hadn’t had anyone worried for me, I can only imagine I would’ve gotten worse because of a lot of self doubt of my symptoms.
But most ofm y life, I was always quiet, reclusive, and I definitely had a lot of trouble making relationships work, and still have troubles with those.

I had prodromal symptoms at age 22, but was not diagnosed until two years later.

i was diagnosed before 2 years iam now 41

I was 49. The docs gave me a dopamine enhancer drug, and that triggered the schizophrenia.

I was 20 years old
