We're allowed to discuss religion at intensive outpatient therapy

Several people there are religious / spiritual like me, and one even read a Christian reflection to the group.

I can understand that people on the internet won’t behave as well as in person, but considering how important God is to so many on this forum, it seems odd that the somewhat or completely non religious mods are so adamant against it.

im not religious and i think it should be allowed and people should avoid things if it bothers them. there are things that bother my paranoia that arent against the rules so i avoid them…or not and just deal with it. its part of life.

yeah, this rule really doesn’t prepare us for the real world. religion will always be around.

i suspect things are flagged by a very small percentage of people on this forum. i saw a post someone made not too long ago about believing he was cursed and there was a lot of flags in the thread. cursed was in the title. there was no need to click on it if it bothers you. and there was nothing crazy in it. it annoys me.

it seems its mostly to prevent arguments, same as politics, still kinda odd as to many people in real life thats like the most common topics

Shield the schizophrenics from real world topics like religion and politics

If we allowed that on here there would be holy wars.

It was allowed in a limited fashion in the past and it ended badly.

  1. It was triggering to people with religious delusions/ideation
  2. It was triggering to people who had been preyed on by religions or religious people
  3. It was triggering to those who had been “treated” for possession
  4. It caused fights because some people can’t stop telling others how their religion is the only legit one.

We really did try folks and over a period of years.
