So… I went to the doctor all for nothing. I didn’t see the pdoc. Waited for an hour for the pdoc to come just to be told rudely and abruptly by the horrible head pdoc that I need to collect my folder. Entered a crowded room and put my card in the tray and waited until I thought it will be no use for me to see the pdoc here at the general hospital, I will wait until my appt at Valkenberg Psych hospital where they will help me properly. These general hospital pdocs didn’t even know what to diagnose me with so its no use, I went home. Just have to wait till the 29th to get help, theres nothing else to do.
That’s an awfully weird system they have over there. What country are you in again (if you feel comfortable answering)?
That sounds horrible, the way you were treated - or rather NOT treated ! Like he wasn’t even interested at all in anything to do with your well being.
In the mean time, have you ever tried outwitting them? I know these things come up with a lot of outlandish suggestions/voices, etc. In the past I learned to not let them bother me and even to turn everything they say bad about me around on them…
Since these type of voices can mock and accuse in all kind of ways, I just do same…if I’m so bad, then what are they?
I also toss out at them that they must be lost, lonely, attention seeking, driven by some wrong done to them, bullies, empty inside…and their solution would be to be nice, not bother people, have compassion, etc…
Although it is interaction which some people discourage from doing, it is not bowing to their taunts and wishes…YOU always have the upper hand, and you do not act upon any of their suggestions, dismissing any threats as empty…
They tend to give up, and even if they don’t you know they truly can’t do anything to you.
Ultimately you are in control and it’s your personal choices that will affect you, not what their voices tell you.

South Africa. The governmental health systems are underfunded and overcrowded, and the mental health sector is one of the worst underfunded health sectors. My local governmental psych hospital is good though, they never gave me bad service. I’m looking forward to seeing my pdoc there on the 29th.
