Been feeling terrible for days since I am having problems with my energy company. Anyway my mum took me out food shopping today.
Was hell on earth.
Totally hyperaroused, suspicious and Jeezo big time paranoia. Walked at a snails pace clutching my ecig in my left hand. Basically looked batshit crazy. Anyway things were bad and in the dairy section I just gave up and dropped my basket and started freakin’ out - my mum had gone to another isle.
But at least I went out but to be honest I think it might have done more harm than good.
What’s worse I didn’t even get any potatoes! The gods won’t be happy

Grocery shopping is a big challenge for me. I try to go when its not busy go in and out as fast as possible. Still have meltdowns there though. The closest store I avoid because I worry they know me from past meltdowns and I am too embarrassed to go back thinking they talk about me. But the thing is trying to go is a plus and be kind to yourself even though it didn’t go as you hoped.

lots of people have a tough time in supermarkets. I had a case worker once who said someone else even refused to go in them, so they were trying to get them used to the idea by just standing outside a supermarket etc.
I hope other than the supermarket experience, things are going OK otherwise.

I feel for you Jimbob. Don’t dwell on it, it is probably a one-time thing. At least I hope it is. We all have bad days, you can’t win all the time. Lots of people freak out but in different ways. No one says that it has to happen again, chock it up to experience and don’t beat yourself up over it, stuff like this happens.

Ha, ha. That’s the spirit, go into your backyard and sacrifice a virgin potato and a bat and the gods will smile upon you once again.

I have a hard time in the market too… I go later at night when it’s less busy… not so much hustle and bustle
I’m glad you were able to get out… when you feel better… it will be easier.
Good luck to us all

Got the bus into town today. Was pretty hard going but am pleased with myself that I tried.

I have to really mentally prep for the grocery store. I have a list and I concentrate on my list. If it gets unbearable to keep shopping I head for the checkout with what I have. When I get to my car I always have to take deep breaths and literally “shake it off” for a minute before I start my car. Anywhere there are people who look at me and think things about me is hard, but the grocery store is definitely the worst!

When I was trying to get back into the swing of things it was hard going out… being on a bus… being in any place that felt crowded…
I’m still not good with big crowds… but getting out and about has become easier.
It just took a lot of time and I had to keep working at it.
Good luck
