Welp, tomorrow's the day

Training’s tough. No pens or papers - so can you take notes? Are other people starting at the same time as you or are you the only one in the training?

Good work on getting through the first day. It will get easier!

Congratulations on making it through your first day. I’ve been at my job for 4 years and I still take it just one day at a time. That’s all you can do. If you made it through one day, you can make it through another day. I hate to say it but it sounds like your job would be too stressful for me. I’m satisfied stocking paper towels, wiping mirrors, and vacuuming. So it’s great you can do it. Even if it doesn’t work out, you learned something about yourself. You learned you can go through a hiring process and succeed, and you learned you can go into a new environment and not freak out too bad. It’s valuable knowledge. Good luck in whatever you do.

good on you
take care :alien:

I can take notes with paper and pen during training, but im not allowed to take the notes home to study for tests. Once I’m actually taking calls, no paper or pens allowed at the cubicle. No bags, magazines tissue boxes, lunch bags. No leggings, no cell phones, no raises…ever. Camera’s everywhere not exactly easy for someone with paranoia, short term memory loss and mild cognitive function. This place is stressing the sh*t outta me.

I’m glad you checked in! I’ve been a little worried about you.

Holy moly, that’s intense. That would stress me out, too. No leggings? I don’t get that one at all. What do you do for lunch?

I can use cell phone on break in parking lot. Leggings are too tight. And that’s all I own/wear with cute tops, of course.
From what I’ve seen on the floor, everyone is breaking legging regulation and eating snacks at their desks.
Maybe they give us worst case senario in training and things are more lax out on the floor. I hate this place so far, but I must have a job. I got into an argument with my uncle last night about it and cried for hours. I’m miserable right now.

Pretty much. It’s an obamacare enrollment call center.

Hang in there, kiddo…

You’ll find your stride. It takes a while at any new job to find your comfort zone.

Oh, honey. Starting a new job is so tough, and this one sounds draconian. Have you gotten to meet any of your coworkers yet, or just trainers and supervisors?

I hope it gets better. I’m so sorry about the fight, too. Do you want to talk about it?

I’ve been with other trainees and will be with them for the next two weeks. Lucky for me they’re a bunch of funny old black women that love to talk about good cookin’ lol

Because they have a truly wonderful way of words and talking about food

Well, this is probably bad advice but maybe you need an other low-stress job. You got practice at the application filling out and the interview process and you got the job and went the first day, so maybe you can translate that into looking for another job. But hey, I don’t want to steer you wrong, maybe it will get better at this job as you get used to it more and learn how to do it. It’s always stressful the first few weeks or even the first couple of months at new jobs.

By the way, speaking of hating jobs, after I got hired at Sears to unload trucks, I hated that job after a week, but I stayed there for four years! I’m strangely proud that I worked and lasted at a job that I hated for four years.

sounds like you got this now…cool that you talk about food. I am constantly working on the next meal. as a matter of fact, I just had a baked potato (microwaved) with sour cream, cheddar cheese and margarine. see?

When I was a teenager and worked at walmart, I used to talk to some older black ladies sometimes. They were obsessed about religion. They thought George Bush was a reptillian alien shape shifter part of some secret club called the illuminati that were satan worshippers that controlled the world. Sometimes I thought they were more crazy than most sz people! They were sweet old ladies though, just batshit crazy! lol! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

You can do this! Just think about the day before and how much courage and effort you put into that day and know that it’s still inside you waiting to come out.

Besides, training might be harder than the job itself. Only time will tell.

Hey you - the week’s over. How are you holding up?

Happy it’s friday, but I’ve already preplanned my anxiety for Sunday night knowing I have another week ahead of me.

I hate all of this so much.
