Weed? No thanks

yesterday the guys with whom
I played music, smoked weed.
They offered to me but i declined.

I don’t like weed anymore.
I don’t like the sensation of high.

I have emotional addiction to weed.
I’m proud of my decision though

Whenever I smell weed,
my mind gets excited.

I still have feelings for it.
But now i have determination to never touch it again

Hey good for you, @Om_Sadasiva.

It’s tough to stay away from weed.

My downstairs neighbor smokes copious amounts of it around 6PM every evening, and it gets on my nerves.

I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily in recovery from substance abuse, but the smell triggers a longing to smoke.

Anyone else has quit weed successfully?

Good for you @Om_Sadasiva!

Yeah.

Every time I want to quit smoking weed.

For the vast majority of us,

Weed is not addictive.

Speak for yourself.

Cannabis greatly helps me and my symptoms.

I know several others (here) that feel the same.

My ex psychiatrist had told me
that she sees many young patients
with psychosis after marijuana.

When I smoke weed, I have hallucinations and paranoia

It depends on the individual.

If something is good, it’s good for everybody.

You wanna say that you only enjoy weed
without problem, right?
The rule is that it exacerbates psychosis.
That’s accepted in theory.

As well you should be. I never liked the high of weed that much. It didn’t make me feel good. I almost never bought it, but I still smoked a pretty fair amount of it because people were always handing me a joint. For some reason people used to love to see me get high. But alcohol was my poison. If you ask me it is more dangerous than weed.

Ha!

That’s wildly untrue and I’m not even going to waste time trying to explain why.

If weed is bad it’s bad for everybody,

Why am I so functional?

Another member I know that uses cannabis has a full time job and lives independently.

There is no rule that cannabis is bad for schizophrenics.

It’s dependent on the individual.

Is penicillin good for everybody?

Sure, it works great for most,

But it’ll freaking kill you if you’re allergic.

Oy vey,

I can’t believe you’d make such a statement.

I believe in my own experience, over any Theory. Marijuana helps me greatly with pain and has an antidepressant effect as well. The key is, not to abuse it. If it bothers you, don’t use it

I wish I could smoke weed but it worsens my anxiety, panic attacks etc. I haven’t touched the stuff since becoming psychotic so I don’t know how it affects me.

I have only tried weed a few times, and that was a long time ago. I never got high or enjoyment from it, it just made things look different and it made me paranoid the next day. I would use it for insomnia if I could buy something suitable and affordable. I have never tried any other illegal drugs.

I’m so jealous! I wish it did for me. Unfortunately, it does the opposite and makes me psychotic.

WHAT?? On what planet is this true?? Everybody is different. If it were true, we’d all be on the same meds, with the same reactions to them.

If everything were good for everyone, there’d be no food allergies.

I could go on.

Good for you man. Weed is an illicit, psychoactive, brain changing drug; it is not good and is this generation’s snake oil, and is in particular pernicious to people who have schizophrenia and other mental health issues. And that is an absolute truth, backed up by science and decades long research. My brother, who majored in neuroscience, has learned this for himself, and has acutal credibility as he also researched, for a job, schizophrenia. All marijuana has going for itself is anecdotal evidence, not real research. I’m Glas you resisted man, you should be incredibly proud, @Om_Sadasiva.
