Wearing pyjamas to mental health appointment

Hi, so basically I hate wearing clothes sometimes, even if they’re comfy they annoy me and I feel too fat for them.

I don’t mind pyjamas as much. Today I’m feeling quite ill as I have a cold and my mental health nurse is visiting later and I’m just wondering would it be that bad if I just stayed in my pyjamas and dressing gown when she arrives?
I really can’t be bothered to change and I don’t like any of my clothes today.

They might consider it a sign of lower functioning, which is why I still put on clean clothing and shave beforehand!

I think my pyjamas and dressing gown are quite stylish but I’ll see what her reaction is to me being in them still at lunch time and report back here later

■■■■. I don’t think I have ever been out of pyjamas when my nurse has come round. Trust me they see so much humanity they won’t blink an eyelid.

If I were you I’d wear them

Let’s be honest. There are people who wear their pajamas to Wal-mart. Jammies are universal. I would just make sure I was clean and my hair was fixed so I don’t get nabbed for personal grooming.

Is this an appointment out or in your home? I often wear stretchy yoga pants and a t shirt to bed so I considered myself halfway presentable when I wake up. Just brush my hair and teeth. I would think at home your dress wouldn’t matter as much. But I wouldn’t think a night gown going out blends all that well.

I see them in my jammies all the time, when they come over. They dont seem to mind and im always more comfortable. Sometimes i dont even take them off when going out, i chuck some jeans over the top of them , so i can be comfy as soon as a get back in. Didnt even consider that they might think im functioning lower than normal.

Please Do! Somehow id love to know. I might mention it myself next time they visit me

When I answered the door to her in my dressing gown, she just said “Ooooo you look cosy!” haha

hahaha! I like it

No don’t wear pajamas.
Mental Health professionals wont like this.
They will mark you down as being low functioning.
Wear sweat pants if you have to or yoga pants and a t shirt.

They do actually take notice of what you are wearing. Anything to bright = manic. Winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter = disorganised. They look very closely what you wear all part of their mental function assessment. Wearing pyjamas to outside appointment might mean negative symptoms/apathy.

I’m usually in lounge pants which I sometimes sleep in and a t shirt. I’ve never questioned if it’s low functioning cause its in my own home. I just make sure I’m washed and teeth brushed

One time I got caught by surprised unwashed not clean and in dirty pjamas and smelly. That was not good. I did not want to let her in the door. But she was very nice about it and said not to worry lol

I just don’t go out in the lounge pants etc.

It’s good to keep up appearances. We are weird enough already. We need to do the normal things that we have control over as much as possible.
