Can anyone speak to the mode of action of these two days drugs . Are they similar or diffrent. Im currently on abilify and want to take an ap that has similar effects bc i currently dont expieerence any positive symptoms but i cant slleep very well on
I want med that is stimulating and doesnt cause my mood to be flat
Abilify is a partial agonist of dopamine receptors. Vraylar is the same only more antagonistic, so it lets in even less dopamine than Abilify.
If you’re looking for something non-stimulating I have to say that Abilify was pretty stimulating for me for a while. Not so much anymore. If anything now I’m drowsy all the time.
You might like Latuda then. It’s more stimulating because of its antagonism of 5ht7 and partial agonism of 5ht1a receptors. Ability is good too because it has a dopamine reputake inhibitor

Hows your motivation level on latuda? Do u have any side effects other than the akthesia or slight weight gain. Do u feel like u did b4 the sz?
As far as emotions I feel that way. I feel like I can emote just fine. As far as lack of motivation I don’t feel great there that’s what my Wellbutrin is supposed to help with
