Volunteering went well

I had my first day on the new volunteering job. It’s in a museum. I’m an audience facilitator. You have to cover an area of the museum and make sure the rules are followed. Every 45 min we change of places and cover a different area. It was relatively quiet today and most of the time it’s pretty chill. It’s only when you are standing at the entrance and explaining things at visitors that it can get busy.

I’m going to continue till I find a regular job. Anyone else volunteers?

Used to be. It was cool until a woman actually showed interest in me. Then suddenly I realized I had no apartment, no money, no car, and was living with Mother. Then it kinda sucked to be that way.

What did you do? I get ‘payed’ 5€ for half a day’s work.

Basically I lost her and learned to live without sex.

I’m glad it went well. I’ve volunteered before when I was able. I liked it. One job was just too far away I decided. The other one, the boss quit and I didn’t like the changes with the new boss

I used to volunteer at a breakfast outreach for the homeless (I was homeless myself at the time). It was cool and fast paced and showed me just how much work it was to provide meals for these folks. Plus I’d see people I knew and joke around.

Good for you. I volunteer a couple of days a week at my cricket club. It’s in the city an hour away but I prepare a turf cricket wicket and do the normal stuff like mow the oval etc. It’s good and gets me out of the house and engaged with people and I’ve been doing it for years since I’ve been on the pension.

I think volunteering is great if your not working for a living. Well it is for me as it provides some decent structure and forces you out of the house weekly at least.
