Today is my first day of volunteering

I hope I like this team.

Not met them all yet.

Sorry I got to keep the volunteering private due to anonymosity.

Can’t wait to see what it’s like.

It’s for 1 hour.

1 hour 3 times per week.

To help me get used to people again in a graded exposure fashion.

So that when I start work again, hopefully, people interaction won’t be such a shock!!!..!!!..!!!

Sounds good and good luck with it. I don’t work but I volunteer some hours to a cricket club and it’s really good. Gets you out of the house and gives you some structure if your not working…and you learn some skills and hang out with peeps. You don’t lose with that so wish you well with it!

I am SO EXCITED TO be volunteering.

I’m trying to sleep I need some sleep but I can’t.

Idk why I’m so excited about it.

I guess I am nervous too that’s why.

If I like the team then this will be so beneficial for me.

Thankyou that’s cool you volunteer too.

It just makes me feel more worthy maybe you get that feeling too from volunteering

And plus I’ve got a reference sorted then.

Volunteering can be a great way to network and parlay it into a paying gig down the road.

The structure is good for your work week as well, and who knows…perhaps an office romance might blossom. Many married couples meet in the workplace.

I’m not really interested in romance, but perhaps some nice simple friendliness at that volunteer place would be nice

Every time I get into a romance relationship I relapse so I’m considering giving up that part of my life.

Thanks for the kind words though

Good Luck! Last time I volunteered was in 2017. I worked 2x 3 hours a week in the State archives. Had to digitalize ancient documents. Lasted 5 months. I wouldn’t go back but it was an interesting experience.

You got this!! :+1:

Try not to be nervous. And remember that everyone makes mistakes when starting out.

I’ve volunteered a couple times at my thrift shop and one time a guy managed to dig up the most obscure tool in the goddamn store and came up to me and asked what it was.

I was stumped, so I told him it was a weed wacker. :joy:

The volunteering went okay. I definitely did not feel much like a normie internally though. Was feeling uneasy. But I tried my best to be okay so it went okay.

It was just an hour afterall
