This is the same funny Russian Viking dance …
Scotland and wales are both constituent parts of Britain, it would be like saying “Swedish/Norwegian/Scandinavian”
There’s some fun outfits , films etc about Vikings and I knew some people who roll played .
I was born in Sweden and have Swedish family.
I for some reason thought I have some Arab to me.
I naturally have cendre hair and black eyebrows .
I thought my real father was very intensely dark and black yet colourful but that could be just my thoughts.
I have not thought my family are my real family even though my nose is the same as the one they said was my father on paper.
He does not feel like it .
I love familiana possibly even the ones I dislike and want nothing to do with to some extent but I just believed that I have another family out there.
I moved to Australia from Sweden about nine years ago I think but was also partly raised here.
Wtf mine didn’t say anything about Jewish even though I’m clearly half Jewish!
You’re referring to politics and I’m talking about ethnicity. For example, Ireland was once a part of Great Britain, but the Irish are distinctly Irish and it’s easier to see when they’re not politically part of Britain. Scotland and Wales are part of Great Britain, but they are distinctly separate cultures with different anthropological histories. Similar, yes, but not the same.
I was confused because I have a lot of German ancestry that was only minimally indicated. One thing that I discovered is that DNA is not equally distributed among children, otherwise we’d be identical siblings, so that one child may show Jewish DNA and the other not so much…I’m surprised yours didn’t show any though.
Have you looked on Gedmatch? It gets a little more detailed…
So if Scottish and Welsh aren’t British then what exactly is British supposed to be? I could understand “scottish/welsh/english” being a thing but British loses all meaning if Scottish or Welsh people aren’t “british” ethnically
I think my family on my mom’s side has a few Confederates in the attic. I don’t know about Vikings.
@zenmind, English and British are the same thing. The English of England are the same as the British of Britain, aka Great Britain. As humans migrated across Europe and settled and conquered etc., of course there’s some mixing. But my point in this is that I could have had ancestors who are Scottish and have no English/British ancestors, or Welsh… I think you’re getting hung up on Great Britain’s national/political boundaries which do include England, Wales, Scotland, and the six counties of Northern Ireland. Great Britain, or The British Isles includes all of these under one rule. But ethnically, each area is distinct.
My ancestry happens to include all three ethnicities that occupy the one island, but that wouldn’t necessarily have been the case.
No offense, @zenmind, but I’m at my limit for being able to explain this. Maybe “Google it” if you need a better explanation.
Great Britain should be 15
For those with European ancestry I recommend Gedmatch’s Eurogenes K13 and K15.
Here are how my results are for my Ancestry upload to Gematch using Oracle 4.
