Does anyone have schizophrenic writing which they could photograph and send to me by email?
I will be able to accredit you if I use a great chunk of your stuff or even a few lines
That is necessary for copyright and honesty
I has boxes full but I burned it… I am very upset about that because I have become a writer for theatre who does not shy away from the subject of schizophrenia… reason I don’t use my own imagination is because I can’t imagine myself schizophrenic when I’m relatively well… I am frequently only hearing voices about personal things that wouldn’t make sense to audience… And the general layout of psychosis is so alien to me when I’m well apart from things I can remember from my history
If anyone remembers wonder donkey I’m not sure how to credit him… There must be away in the program or something to mention him… used a bit of his ideas for one scene
So anyway… You could post some writing on here if you don’t hate the idea
I’d be very grateful X
Cool, but I think you should do the writing. You’re a writer.
You can view my works on ‘grutzworks’
I do alternative issues in my sketches.
I’ll see what I can find for you, and send it in PM.
Absolutely…
i did some fake schizo writing - but the thought process of an insane person… still end up writing like pink floyd instead of sid barratt
I dreamt of something tonight that you might be able to use, for it is quite a schizophrenic idea, I think. It was about the concept of thoughts forming a knot. Literally. Like having a patient say he/she can physically feel his/her thoughts forming a knot, feeling it inside the skull, the knot pushing against the brain or something, and the problem of how to untie it. This is not something I have experienced myself, it was just a dream, but I think the problem of how to make sense of such an idea taken literally is quite typical for reported delusions of schizophrenia.
I love it!!! I can imagine that going in my play about a woman with a history of mi who turns into a spider xxx
Thanks x
Cool I think it can work well because if taken metaphorically, the patient reporting her thoughts forming a knot could be taken to report insight into the illness. For in a metaphorical sense a delusional patient might be taken to face the challenge of untying the knots in her thoughts. Hence, if she reports that the thoughts form a knot she might be taken to have insight into her condition. You can play with, I think, let the audience only later know she means it literally. It allows for a nice tension I think: the wavering between insight and bizarre delusion depending on a metaphorical or literal interpretation of these same words.
I’ve done “Variations on the Gordian Knot” that you can read on grutzworks.
Only thing I wrote was “There are no ghosts!” Over and over on all papers.
Thanks Daze
Don’t know grutzworks,
There are no ghosts fits with the kind of stuff I mean, I wrote constantly but I burned it
Repetitive stuff like that I don’t have any records of now
Only one I remember was I don’t want to teach people how to fly xx
Can’t find the ghost papers. Think I have thrown them away. I found other stuff. Sending them to you.
