Valentine's Day on the cheap

For those in a relationship, what are you and your significant other doing on the 14th for Valentine’s Day? Something? Nothing? Splurging on treats or keeping it inexpensive and simple?

My wife and I are staying at home tomorrow night. I’m making supper for her and then we’re thinking of cuddling on the couch for a movie. No expensive flowers or gifts. No expensive meals out. Cards from the dollar store.

I’d be interested in hear from others about this.

That sounds nice, @shutterbug. We’re going out to dinner.

We usually go out for supper.
My father in law just moved in with us tho
(he’s on hospice),
so it looks like we’re staying in this year,
maybe watch something good together
on Netflix…

Just wanted to pop in and say “Bah Humbug”. Errr…Not sure that expression really applies to Valentines Day.

I’m mostly joking though. Its just another day to me and doesn’t bother me that you all are celebrating with your SO.

Bowens secretly goes off and cries alone :sob:

Come now - I’m sure Maggie is up for some cuddles.

hahah, I’m sure she would be up for that. She loves attention.

I was just joking at the end, though. It truly doesn’t bother me at all. Its just another day for me.

I am really excited because I found a perfect gift for Mr. Star. It wasn’t expensive, but it is going to make him very happy. Can’t tell just yet in case he sees.

If i had someone I’d take them to McDonald’s and let them order anything from the dollar menu (as long as it wasn’t more than 3 dollars). I’m a romantic like that:)

I’ve actually gotten a date before by asking someone if she wanted to go to McDonald’s with me and I’ll buy her a four piece nugget and a free water. She thought it was hilarious, and said yes if we went somewhere a bit nicer so I took her for seafood instead.

There is a fairly big McDonald’s restaurant in my neighborhood. It has a spacious dining area so sitting there to enjoy a meal would be nice and cheap. I would ask my husband out to this McDonald’s for Valentine’s day.

I would have to seriously dislike someone to take them to McD’s.

BLECH.

Nah, you’re eating at my place.

My fries are also better than theirs.

Yeah!

It totally doesn’t bother me that you all have someone to cuddle with on VD.

It’s nothing personal.

Smearing red lipstick all over my face and beating my bed with a baseball bat while I cry.

You do any volunteer work meng? You’ve got a good heart that shines from a mile away. It would be hard for one of your single lady co-volunteers not to notice it.

Just sayin’.

Order the #69 at Denny’s.

No sir, I used to volunteer at the thrift shop.

I’ve been thinking about doing it again if I can ever get over this dang cold.

I was just being silly though. I’m happy that there are schizophrenics who have partners.

I’m hoping you and El Skunk join our ranks. You’re both too cool not to.

(Also @Bowens - haven’t forgotten you bud.)
