Update on one woman

I had mentioned earlier that I wanted to ask one woman to have coffee with me in a cafe. Today I met her again and we rode our bicycles together. We had good conversations and we talked about how important exercising is even at the hospital. She rides her bicycle daily and she is taking care of financial matters, possibly others too of people who can not handle their finances in my little town. It was nice to have a discussion with her. So this was a short update.

Hey, that sounds really good!

I have known many people who have had the public guardianship because they have not been able to take care of their finances and f.ex. to pay bills and handle money matters. One person had this public guardianship and they called Alko, Finland’s alcohol monopoly, so that they would not sell wine, liquor etc. to this person. This Roma person died four months ago. One person had also this public guardianship and for him it was difficult to stop the guardianship, when he finally was released after many processes he got 11000 euros that was not given to him during the period of his public guardianship.

Is she your girlfriend?

She is not my girlfriend, we just have good discussions. We talked about diabetes and meds. She actually lives in the building next to mine. She is assisting in these public guardianship matters. She takes care of money matters of those people who can not handle their finances. I know a few people who could enter to this public guardianship program. She is 5-6 years older than I am, but she is quite youthful. Today we had good conversations.

Actually these public guardianship program matters are very important. There are many mentally ill people who are in the program. I was once in the psych ward and there was one woman. She was in the public guardianship and a person who took care of her matters complained how she had too many expenses because she was at the psych ward. My father was also in the public guardianship program when he went to the hospital and then to the elderly care facility. My father had difficulties to handle his money and bill matters even before going to the hospital and he had to be helped informally. This is a very important topic.

Would you like her to be your girlfriend?

Nice… hope things keep going well

Riding a bicycle with someone nice can be one of the happiest feelings ever.

Anders and I used to ride our bikes together .
It was lovely.

Awesome that you had some company you enjoyed on your bike ride .

That would be absolutely horrible to have a guardian over one’s money.
Sometimes it happens with financial abuse but other times the person is just so bad with money.

I’m so glad you two had a nice time
