I think its because they are inflammatory …they put the body in a stress mode…very long term that can be damaging in some individuals, at the very least.
Things like poor stress coping skills can maybe also be inflammatory…its not just about food in my opinion
I have heard that many, if not all, diseases have an inflammatory body environment as a contributor to their manifestation
For example,
Cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune diseases,
And perhaps even mental health diseases.
Obviously there can be genetic components too and such.
