I have been able to continue smoking as a relative goes to France a fair bit
But the prices in England is disgraceful
Smoking is an easy target and donāt be fooled, they wonāt stop there
The state needs to butt out of peoples business and what choices they want to make in their lives
Tax take in UK for smoking is calculated as more than the cost of smoking related illness I saw a while back
Also the trend of falling numbers of smokers has nothing to do with anything happening recently
It has been falling at the same rate for 50 years, and there is not a āblipā in the data that can be attributed to any government policy or intervention
Should my duty frees run down then I will be forced to reconsider how many cigarettes I can afford to smoke

On the plane or duty free from France itās between Ā£9-Ā£14 depending on where you buy

If these things were genuine they would not be taxing people for being addicted to a substance
Profiting on what they view as a misery and public health issue is pretty much a scandal
I very much doubt the proceeds go back into prevention either

When we were in the EU before Brexit we could easily get tobacco cheaper but now flights costs and they only allow 250g i believe through customs

I havenāt smoked since I was 16 I used to smoke cigarettes and weed but I had a absolute terrible experience one time with weed and I was throwing up for 3 months no exaggeration

The price of baccy is extortionate.
I never had a bad experience with weed but Iāve been through bad withdrawals that initially got me sent to the psych ward.
Where i live in Australia the prices are so eye wateringly high that dozens of illegal tobacconists have popped up everywhere selling untaxed cigarettes and nic vapes. The ciggies at these places are like one-fifth of the price compared to the legal ones. They dont even pretend to sell legal tobacco. They get raided all the time and fined etc. But they make more from these businesses than they are fined from being charged i heard.
Got a friend who has a friend that grows tobacco. My friend gets it pretty cheap. He also swears itās better quality.
Itās too expensive now in uk, Iām thinking of growing my own
