Psychiatric beds are scarce everywhere.

In my first psyche ward it was about a 100 miles away from home. My parents drove me up there then visited a week later then a few days later picked me up and drove me to Soteria House which was only about 10 miles away from their apartment.

A trip to the state hospital here involves being shackled and flown on a commercial airlines (with two guards) to a city 350 miles away! It’s absolutely ridiculous how scarce psych beds are in this state…
