I use it to keep in touch with family and some people I used to share forum space with. For a supposedly intelligent man Zuckerberg finds increasing ways to ramp up the crap with facebook.

i’ve not tried facebook much. i’m quite sure it’s only for people who have friends. i couldn’t even share my facebook among online friends, if i had a facebook, because most online communities don’t allow that sharing and id get banned. but i might try facebook, as it definitely seems a lot less moderated and more interactive than any forum i’ve been to.
Too many ads…but hey its free…tv has same principles

Well, there’s no money in you using Facebook for the things you want to. He only makes extra billions if you look at crap advertising.

But if he makes facebook increasingly crap a lot of people will jettison it and not look at the crap advertising. The thing with facebook is that more people are on it than other social media. If my family members etc were on a superior alternative I’d switch to that.

Like most things the people in charge of running it seem hell bent on making it worse. A lot of initially good websites went down the plughole because of supposed ‘improvements’ that were anything but. Classic example last.fm.
I looked at that but it seems too complicated for me. I’d really need a pod that allowed for posts from/to people from different countries and that I could persuade all people I wanted contact with to sign up for the pod.
