Tricks to stop using fb and twitter

Anybody have any? This is a real addiction. I get that dopamine hit every time I look at a new post and the thought that somebody may be reading my posts. It’s the only ‘socializing’ I get. That’s probably why it’s so addicting.

Can you shut down your FB and Twitter accounts?

You need to make what is going on in your life more interesting than other people’s. Stop foraging for dopamine hits! Just pick up an interesting project / career path, and be your own biggest fan.

I spend a lot of hours on Instagram when I get so much likes. I try to uninstall the app when it gets in the way of my productivity.

Find something else to occupy your time. I’m re-upping my French at www.duolingo.com and loving it. Currently leading the gold board.

I post funny to me memes on facebook and love all the likes & comments it’s a bit of an addiction since I can’t work it’s my escape from reality for a few seconds of pleasure at a time. I also neglect house work & showering when I’m on it? even before facebook I was the same so hard to say if I didn’t have it would i be more productive… probably not since I would find something else to be obsessed with

The thing is I don’t get any likes or comments. It’s probably all a delusion that people look at my FB. I have my suspicions that powerful - hopefully we’ll intentioned - people look at it. I really hope it’s not true because I post some random stuff.

Sometimes (often) i get nothing too especially if its politically charged post… I tend to complain alot about the shenanigans in Washington… Also maybe you are intellectually posting over there heads? I have about 73 friends/family on my facebook and at most i might get 10 likes if its a personal pic like my dog/selfie etc.

deativate. it’s probably the the best choice, as you aren’t permanently deleting it (although I think after a certain amount of time it might be deleted.)

or, just delete it. I did, never looked back. But, it can be very isolating if you just take away all your social media at once. So, be careful.

They Don’t like Political opinions my friend, i used to post things like that and also stuff from the charities/organisations iam personally involved with.I found that the Facebook generation couldn’t care less about this stuff tbh.Just a bunch of Narcissits hoping for a better life.I just have to try saved the world with likeminded people most of whom are too busy doing important work than being on Social Media!

i have a chrome add on called “block site” that lets me block facebook, messenger, instagram etc. it has an on and off switch so you can decide when you want to check and when you dont want to

I mean I’m kind of an internet addict, but facebook is just a site I connect with non local friends and family with.

change your password to something random, copy and paste it to sign in then deactivate your account
