Treatment for Psychosis

Are there cases where no medicine will work for you and you will have continuous psychosis?

Some people are treatment resistant. So yes.

Meds might still help a bit and help to stabilize you and keep you calm.

I have thought broadcasting sense that people know my thoughts.
I know its impossible and stupid thing but I have still feelings that people comment on my thoughts.

Have you tried working on your beliefs with a therapist. Doing CBT or something similar.

I have had thought broadcasting delusions on several occasions but they only last for a couple of months in my case.

And my voices comment on my thoughts always. But I don’t believe it to be real in this dimension.

It took staying on meds for awhile before my thought broadcasting stopped. I don’t know how long you gave your meds to work.

Yes some people meds don’t work.

I take medications for 2 years but …

I don’t have discord.

But I hope you can find a treatment that helps.

I’m told I’m still hallucinating and delusional. But the stress of being watched and followed, and the fear of being kidnapped and tortured is less with my new AP asenapine (Saphris).

So I’m getting out of the house now. I’m still afraid but I feel brave enough to leave home. I’m still not ready to go to a downtown city type area or other places that would be easy to be kidnapped, but I can go to the grocery store, a local restaurant, and the place I’m doing water aerobics on my own now.

I still believe it’s real, but I’m trying to convince myself to listen to others that it’s not real. I’ve tried a ton of antipsychotics and none of them have made it go away.

how long have you been treated?

Yes, mine. I should qualify this by saying that meds can remove all positive symptoms but at the cost of my being able to function. As in I can’t even take care of my own basic needs. I had to turn to CBT and conventional therapy. I did try EMDR, but it didn’t work for me at all. Others report positive results. I still have positive symptoms, but I’m able to handle them now.

did you tried clozapine?

how long have you been treated?

What kind of schizophrenia do you have?

Yes. I reacted very badly to it. (Pro tip: do not EVER skip blood tests.)

Since 1993. It took years to regain basic function and I’ve had to push myself every day to maintain and build on that. If you stop you backslide.

Originally had Disorganized Schizophrenia. I improved enough that it was upgraded to Paranoid Schizophrenia as I stopped going non-responsive.

Please don’t put questions in multiple posts - it makes replying too much work.
