I am new at the workplace and I have been given responsibility to train a new girl when I myself am not totally comfrtable or confident in the role… they seem think i am doing well…

You might find your quite good at training you might surprise yourself and get confidence
They may be right. They told you that for a reason. You must be doing something right.
