Still working on this stupid ■■■■■■■ laptop… I found there is a straight up download and install for windows 10… you have be using internet explorer on an eligible machine to find it though… it would seem anyways.
For being a microsoft page there was one oddity… they tell you when to remove the jump drive to avoid being asked for a product key… hilarious. at least to me.

I know you guys don’t really care… but this ■■■■ is a mess.
Do not try to clean install windows 10 do the upgrade… that validates the older windows keys to windows 10… then you can reinstall if you really want the fresh distro… (I have to do this because I’m a perfectionist) I want the SSD part of the drive to hold the OS it is much quicker and less likely to fail… unfortunately there isn’t enough room on the SSD to actually perform the upgrade… so I have to do all this ■■■■■■■■ for like the 5th time… it’s going to work though.
Im not upgrading to windows 10. I am concerned it will wreck my games. Some games are old and took a lot of messing around to get working on windows 7. Not doing that again
you’re call. You might want to check it out before july next year… after that you’ll have to pony up…
I had to reinstall some games but after that everything worked fine.

@Minnii ok great. I just read the summary, it seems like just what I need. I will go and buy it today. I would download PDF but I’m not taking my iPad with me. I will buy the book, hopefully I’ll find it over here.
