Toothpaste allergy?

I am pretty sure I am allergic to the toothpaste I was using. It finally occurred to me that this was one other thing that seems to make me feel crappy with dry chapped lips and maybe some sinus congestion and stomach symptoms. I switched to brushing with water and then using a fluoride rinse and occasionally some listerine. My lips seem to be softer and my head and sinuses are clearer.

My sinuses and joint pain seem to be the alarm bells when I have any kind of mild allergy. So far I am pretty sure I get reactions to lactose, chocolate, egg yolks (not whites) and some breads with preservatives (but gluten doesn’t seem to be a huge problem.) It’s always a huge relief to be able to be able to breathe better through my nostrils and my anxiety goes way down when I don’t have to deal with inflammation.

I had a bad reaction to certain toothpastes and mouth washes too. I’ve found some that I’m ok with now.

Starlet is allergic to Crest Pro Health. We had to switch to Colgate.

Oh, interesting. I’m very particular with my toothpaste. Most toothpastes give me a chemical burn. I never thought that I might be having an allergic reaction but now that you’re saying that it sort of makes sense.

If you are worried about an egg yolk allergy, you should tell your doctor. You might need a special alternative flu shot.
