I haven’t done any meth for 5 months. I was tempted a few weeks back when I knew it might be readily available but I talked to a friend on here and got my mind straight. But it was a little reminder that I need to take it serious and be careful who I associate with.
Congratulations on the 5 months of being clean.
Way to go @Leaf Clean and sober is the way to go! I sometimes miss my party days but I haven’t touched anything in years and I feel great being substance free.
I don’t know anything about meth other than I was told to stay away from it when the cops came to the school and gave everyone in the gymnasium a talk about drugs.
Do you have cravings or withdrawals or is that all over with? When you say you were tempted is it just nostalgia on how it made you feel or are you still craving it? Keep fighting!
Congratulations on 5 months being clean @Leaf
Yeah please stay away from Meth.
That crap spells bad news!
Thank you for your support @everhopeful and @Wave
@Headspark I did get a craving a couple weeks ago. It was in the evening and I was tired and hungry and I just had a sudden rush of memories of using and it triggered a craving. In the past I’ve had that and been followed the impulse and got in touch with my person, but instead I just opened up to a friend and we talked about the bad things that would come of it.
It honestly helped me remember that being tired and hungry are triggers, and that I was having an impulse. Also not wanting my sister to find out that I had been recently using was another big deterrent. Not because I want to save face but because she will worry so. My sister came here 5 months ago and is a huge reason why I’m clean.
Congratulations, @Leaf.
It’s a big deal.
I don’t know that the cravings ever go away,
But it sounds like you’re coping with them well.
Shows a lot of strength.
Congrats, @Leaf, on 5 months clean!! That’s awesome.
Thank you @GoldenRex and @Blossom your support means a lot
Congratulations!!! What kinds of things are you doing to make yourself so successful?
congratulations @Leaf =)
well done!
I just remind myself how bad it feels coming down, how weird it feels being high when everyone else around me is clean, having to pretend to be straight, lying, hiding it. I think about my age and my heart and how I could have a heart attack. I think about my teeth and how I don’t want them to rot. I think about my daughter who is struggling with addiction to meth and how I’m supposed to encourage her to get into rehab if I’m using. I stay away from users the best I can.
Thank you @lekkerhondje
Good good @Leaf
