Today I quit my job

It has been a hard decision to make. I worked there for 7 years and did 4 different jobs.

My support structures were eroded, and I was left with no other option.

I was sick of being ill from the office politics and having to deal with genuinely nasty people.

I am going on state benefits for a short period whilst I set up my own landscaping business.

Massive risk, as I will lose my home if I fail

Stress sux an it’ll make you less able to deal with things. Working for yourself isn’t a bad thing if you can pull it off. I wish you luck and all. I did a lot of menial jobs and it was always stressful due to other people. The work was ok. I do ok with repetitive things but I can feel your pain.

Thanks for your comments @rogueone

The stress was too much for me to handle, and after my failed suicide attempt on Tuesday, I have a new perspective and I don’t want to feel that way again

I was good at my old job, but I was also good at landscaping.

We’ll see what happens.

I will keep everyone on the board posted, and share some pictures when I build things

Got to take care of yourself @Joker.
Most likely it was the smart thing to do.

Good luck with everything.

I hope everything works out for you. :leopard::leopard::leopard:

Thanks everyone!

I don’t have to work my 3 month notice which I am pleased about as I needed a clean break

You’ve inspired me @Joker, I told my mother I don’t want to farm anymore and she understood. I’m thinking of selling all my cows next year

I hope it works out for you. Usually, it’s better to line up the new job before quitting the current one. Have you been applying?

I am applying for disability and starting a landscaping business

Oh, good luck. Do you have a disability lawyer?

I have the support of the local crisis team and community mental health team to advocate for me
