Thought We'd Have a 4 Day Work Week By Now

I swear, this 5 days a week nonsense is really archaic…a throwback to the War era or somethin.

I thought technology was supposed to make our lives easier. But today, employers in all types of fields are making you do 12 things half-assed instead of 3 things well.

Seems this way to me anyways.

Thoughts?

We do 38 hours so most places do 40 and give you a rostered day off every month. Some more enlightened places do a 9 day fortnight so 36 1/4 hour week. I agree. Working is rubbish and we need far more leisure time which is why I don’t work anymore…

Mental illness is on the rise from everything I’ve been hearing/ reading.

Juggling work and family life…trying to find that right balance is becoming fleeting for many people.

Stress, depression, fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety…etc. I still blame this mostly on the 5 day work week. Your brain is a muscle and needs the appropriate rest.

I bet an upcoming Politician who would campaign on this and make it a main plank in his/ her platform…(the 4 day work week, that is)…would skyrocket into Office.

Spain is doing a trial run of a 32 hour work week rn and theyre also doing basic income

I think they have the right idea for the future
