Thought I would drop in to say "Hey"

It’s about 12:33 am, and I woke up and can’t get back to sleep. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on the forums, so I came around to check it out. I have started school. I go to the local technical college and take computer programming. I am about 4 weeks from completing my first semester and I have A’s and B’s. And the B’s are high B’s. They are hard fought A’s and B’s. I have to study constantly. I go to school full time. The people paying for it (Vocational Rehab under the Veteran’s Administration) require me to go full time. But I am making it, sometimes barely, but making it nonetheless.

The only problem I am having is I am not sleeping well. I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep. This makes school frustrating. Sometimes I get so sleepy in class. But I will keep on plugging away.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I will try to come on more to meet those who are new that I haven’t met yet.

sleep can be annoying to deal with. I used to wake up in the middle of the night, too. so I made sure that I did not sleep or take any naps during the day. I also stayed up a little longer, to make sure that my body was fatigued and ready for a long rest.

I take melatonin and it knocks me out! Haha I really recommend it it’s natural and non habit forming

Welcome back! It’s awesome that you’re going to school! I’m going back to school too, starting in January.

For sleep, I also take melatonin. None of the prescription sleep aids work for me, but melatonin and a few lifestyle changes have helped me out a lot. Thirty minutes before bedtime, I put away all electronic devices. I sit in front of the fireplace and drink caffeine free tea, listen to relaxing music, and then brush my teeth and go to bed. I leave my phone charging in another room, and I have an alarm clock for waking up in the morning. I think leaving my phone in another room was the biggest help. I have now been sleeping through the night for about a whole month.

I have never tried melatonin. Maybe I should give it a go.
