I feel like it’ll take awhile because even if they have knowledge they don’t necessarily have the skills to build it all.

Yea I think it would take a while… just to make the tools and machines necessary to build the computer would take a long time to ramp up.
Unless they can build computers out of rocks and sticks lol

So they’re not all engineers and scientists, and I can infer that all 1 million people are alive today, with current knowledge of something.
I’ll make them 50% men, and 50% women. All fertile, and between 18-40 years old. Every woman has 3 children, then those children each have 3 children, etc.

500 years ago, 1500 CE there was basically nothing developed
the first generation in the stone age could get from stone age to 1500 right away

You are underestimating what 1 million determined folks can achieve!
If carefully selected, the group will comprise more than enough man power and grey matter.
200k will mine for all types of raw resources.
200k will farm.
200k will build homes, dams, roads, plants and factories.
200k will work in factories and workshops (clothes, shoes, paper, pencils, soap, tooth paste etc)
100k will perform socially relevant jobs (doctors, nurses, cooks, teachers, drivers)
100k will gradually prototype and build more advanced technology (vehicles, machinery, instruments)
Of course redundancy must be built into this division of labour. And they will be allowed to have and raise children.
The future past looks bright.
