Those with ADHD- what medication do you take?

What medication do you take for ADHD? I have an appointment booked in two weeks from now and my doctor and I are working to get the best medication regimen for me. Right now I’m taking zoloft for OCD with other SNRI+ APs. OCD intrusive thoughts have decreased significantly but now I have trouble focusing, which I don’t know if this is because of potential ADHD or autism OR sza. My doctor thinks that my case is very complicated because I take so many medications.

Stimulants may worsen your ocd. And your psychotic disorder.

That’s what I’ve heard. I might need a non-stimulant drug for possible ADHD.

i dont have ADHD but i take atomoxetine at low dose 10mg/day to help improve my cognition.its a non stimulant so its consider to be safe for schizophrenics.

Im prescribed atomoxetine for adhd but dont take it because of hyperhydrosis. So i currently take nothing for adhd.

Some people have a harder time focusing after they get their OCD under control just because OCD by nature makes people hyper-vigilant about remembering things. Taking away the hyper-vigilance means people can spend more energy on things besides focusing/remembering. The answer might be medication, but it also might be learning new ways to focus without OCD symptoms giving you an edge. If you don’t want to adjust your meds at this time, your pdoc might be able to refer you to speech therapy or occupational therapy to learn new skills.

I have pretty severe adhd and cannot function without meds unfortunately. I have been this way all my life as is the case with adhd.

I take adderall xr. I cannot take the ir regular because it increases my psychosis. But the longer acting xr for some reason is better for me and doesn’t worsen sz for me thank goodness.

Occupational therapy sounds good. I’ll talk to my doctor about it.

I got an OT and she’s so nice
Grateful to have her
She’s helping me also a little in psychotherapy while I still wait to have one

OTs definitely help you get your feet back on the ground
