Raising a CFer i decided to stay in poverty so she could get covered basically for free very expensive disease and decided not to get married cuz what guy wants to take on these costs. I did what i had to do. I’m sure the Repubs hate me.

I understand. You do what you have to in order to care for your kids. There’s no guarantee a marriage would have lasted.

I was offered a job in management but i didn’t take it.

Insurance might have been out of the question even with a good job. I had a good job as a nurse aide and insurance for my family would have run $700 a month!

My sister and her husband aren’t married on paper because he owns a business and would have to buy a family plan for them. As it is, he only has to cover himself, and she and the kids have Medicaid. You do what you have to in this world.

My mom and stepdad quietly divorced beforeshe died because he couldn’t afford to put her in a nursing home. i took care of her for a while and her care was expensive.
