This is the 7th phone message my nurse has ignored

I hate my nurse. She doesn’t return phone messages. This is the 7th time in a row she hasn’t replied. I’ve had enough. Gonna make a complaint and get a new nurse.

My current nurse trained at the local ward which is the worst ward I have ever been on. Zero respect for patients.

why dont you ask her why she isnt returning your calls?

I never expected or wanted respect from them.

Cruelty? No, not that either.

But not respect at all, i never expected it whatsoever and was never upset that i wasn’t repsected by them.

Maybe it is time to see her in person?

Just phoned her up. Apparently she isn’t in today. Will see if I get a call back tomorrow. Sorry for the bad language folks.

This is becoming a pattern of behavior for her.

if your own nurse isnt in then i am sure you can speak to someone else if you wanted to, should be able to anyway i think.

Hope you will get a call back soon.

I read somewhere that the operator’s message is different when the recipient’s phone battery has been removed than when the recipient’s phone is just turned off.

I know. I appreciate they are very busy but at the end of the day they should be looking after their patients and that includes returning calls.

Has got to the stage where I want to stop my depot because I don’t want to have to see her anymore. Kinda feel I would rather do stuff on my own.

In fact most of my CBT has been based around me dealing with getting no response from her when I leave messages to ask for advice. I don’t think my therapy should be based upon coping with her unprofessional behaviour - it should be about me getting better.

When she doesn’t respond I feel like she thinks I am a nuisance or a time waster. It really effects my fragile mental set up.

What questions do you have for her? Is it something another nurse can handle? UK medicine is bizarre. If my nurse acted like that, I would just go to a different nurse.

I want to change my meds. She needs to speak to my psychiatrist. The uk system system is that you interact with your pdoc through your nurse - you don’t just phone them yourself.

If I speak to another member of the nursing team they say I have to speak to my own nurse. She isn’t returning my calls so I don’t know what to do.

Weird. You can’t make an appointment directly with your psychiatrist?

They send you the appointments. My nurse is my key worker between me and my doctor. I need a good relationship with her to get the most out of my care. I kinda think she doesn’t really give a damn.

That’s awful. Definitely report her then. I know @daydreamer had to report his nurse a while back. He might have some tips on how to do it.

i’m sorry, I know its frustrating to try and get a hold of a pdoc or clinical nuse. I had one clinical nurse’s assistant wouldn’t return my calls for 6 days I ran out of meds and was really close to losing it. she didn’t warn me that the doctor was going on a three week vacation. I hope you get a phone call back

tell your psychiatrist she isnt returning your calls, phone up and ask to speak to your p/doc and even if you get his/her receptionist you can always leave a message telling him/her that the nurse isnt returning her calls, he should talk to her about it.

Wow, that’s terrible. You have to spend your valuable therapy time discussing how to deal with your awful nurse.

Maybe your psychologist can put in a complaint on your behalf?

That is a really good idea @anon84763962. Will do that. Thanks

Didn’t want to say something myself - I hate confrontation

Yea you’re in a really tough spot. And chances are the nurse knows you don’t like confrontation and she’s taking advantage of the situation.
