Thinking about finding a job

Maybe work from home data entry/accounting or video games tester as I have previous experience in these. I quit my accounting job in 2020. I worked there for a year but then my pdoc changed my meds and I was having positive symptoms.

My pdoc said I can work regardless of meds and that I am making excuses to not work. He said I am doing good by driving, hanging out with friends, going to the gym, diet so it means I can also work. I worked postsz at several jobs.

I want to do data entry but all the jobs I’ve seen in data entry either requires paid job experience which I don’t have or is temporary which I can’t do. Sucks.

Good luck Aziz. Wishing you well.

You don’t need to tell them you have no experience. I did paid training for 2 weeks, they showed me how to use the accounting programs. Also when I did video games testing they said previous experience is required but they still accepted me and made me do paid training for a week.

I’m not going to lie. I can’t keep up with lies.

Yea I should just apply anyway that’s true.

I just feel I’m annoying them cos so many ppl must do that; apply anyway.

I don’t mean you should lie, but still apply they might still accept you and give you training. For the video games testing job I had to pass an IQ test.

Good luck working from home sounds like a good idea

Who knows? Maybe you can do it. I went through 2 1/2 years where the idea of working seemed utterly ridiculous because my symptoms were so bad. But then I had a job fall right into my lap and I worked there four years. Maybe you can hold it together just enough to work part time somewhere, since going right into working a full time job after you haven’t worked in so long sounds a little too ambitious right now.

Video game testing sounds like a dream job. Do you have to search for bugs/exploits as well?

Yes bugs, I worked in VR alpha video games and had to find bugs then write a report in english whats the bug, what i did to get it and screenshots and videos. If you don’t find a single bug in a day you get a warning before they kick you out. I played several games from 7am to 3pm also on weekends extra time and night shifts they paid me more but the salary still sucks lol but its above minimum

That seems harsh. What if an alpha had no bugs?

Good luck. I hope you find a good job that makes you happy.

Good luck! Would be nice if you find something that fits you.

Just an idea: would a job where you are active and out of the home not be better to activate you? And lessen negatives? And connect you to the world?

I used to study game design and i worked as a programmer before my first and ongoing current series of episodes. It’s hard to program or write now, except for a few days in between episodes.

I wanted to make a small video game but i was kinda scared about finding people to collaborate with. i have people in mind (who do art & music as hobbies) but i dont know if i can work at a constant pace. And besides that, i don’t know if these people will want to collab as a side project as they do other collabs or if they want to be paid (could probably just pay for a few images or songs).

I like imagining the thought of if i make a video game and it advances further, and i need testers, and i have the money, i could pay you to do testing for me hehe. And you would be free to set up a structure that works for you.

Probably couldnt happen because of anonymity on here, and because I’m just at the very beginning, but nice to imagine.

The game i wanted to make was inspired by hallucinations in a previous episode - i would listen to music that ive heard before and i felt that i would get physically teleported somewhere else (full-scale visual hallucination). I wanted to build on the idea and maybe make puzzles where you hear music and see something, and you have to figure out which corresponds to which.

I wish you luck as well. Its hard not only figuring out what might work for you in terms of a job, but also finding a job can take a lot of energy, and then there’s trying to find an employer who may be more accomodating.
