Think it's really time to change meds

Voices came back today, for a short while. I think Invega is losing it’s potency. First the glitches, now this.

It was just for a short while though, nothing to worry about as of yet.

My old pdoc scheduled an appointment for me on December 5th and I expect a mood stabilizer and a med change from that appointment.

Bah humbug.

Not losing my grip though, there are bumps on the road but I’m well on the recovery road.

Are u going to abilify this time…!!! Hope u will find best combination of all the time…finger crossed…!!!

Thanks @far_cry0  Yeah Abilify, but will have to endure 6 months of oral invega, my pdoc doesn’t want to risk rebound psychosis with the transition from invega to abilify. And me neither

I’ve tried every med and abilify is the one I settled on. My nightmare scenario is abilify not working anymore. I don’t think I’ve anything to switch to.

Will you be on abilify pills or injection?

Pills, my pdocs would prefer me on injections since I was a flight risk, but I’m not anymore and it’s been very hard to convince them of that.

Have you tried any typicals? In my experience they sometimes have more strength than the newer meds.

Best of luck @Minnii
Changing Meds can be a pain but many times it works out in the end.

I tried haldol only, at the hospital. Not sure if it was the haldol or the zyprexa that gave me akathisia. I’m guessing it was the zyprexa because I still had it while taking it.

And it wasn’t that effective for my symptoms to be honest, I was still hallucinating my eyeballs out in there.

Yeah they do cause akathisia a lot of the time. Hope you find a good new med and that the transfer period is fine. J

Thanks J

I’m changing meds from Invega to Abilify as well. I started hearing things while on Invega a few weeks ago. Good luck Minnii. I’m hoping Abilify will be an improvement.

Thank you and good luck to you too.

That sucks I don’t know what would happen if my risperidone stopped working. I hope it works out for you either way. By the way if someone were to get immune to a med every year could they switch meds every year till their natural demise. How many anti-psychotics are there?

Yeah, I’m a bit worried about it. Thank you for your kind words.

I counted about 82 everything except the abandoned ones. I guess if that scenario were to happen I would be okay till about 121 years old.
