I wanted to send my stepmom flowers on Mothers Day. I searched for online flower services to deliver the flowers and settled on one called Ava’s Flowers. I ordered a bouquet for $39 and there was a service fee of $24 and I told them to deliver the flowers on Friday. This was on Sunday the 5th.
On Monday on a whim I looked the company up on Yelp and was dismayed to find their company was rated 1 star out of 5 and there were pages of bad reviews. I was worried, people weren’t getting their flowers delivered, they couldn’t get refunds and people are calling the company a scam.
Sure enough, I called my stepmom on Friday when I got a text saying the flowers had been delivered and she told me they never arrived. The text said the florist and the driver had marked them as delivered. I thought I just threw $69 down the drain. I’ve been calling the company since Saturday and I reached a customer service rep who said he would call me back and help me. I never heard from him again and I called again an hour ago and was given the runaround by a women who got someone on who claimed to be a manager. He told me he would deliver the flowers tomorrow and refund the service fee. I said OK but I’m not too hopeful, their customer service has been so bad so far I doubt they are going to be that nice and responsible and do what he said. I foresee more calls and maybe some yelling, I already told the first lady they got bad reviews and I think they’re a scam. I’ll find out tomorrow for sure. But yeah, these companies have no compunction about lying.
I have gotten my money back from internet question answering service, that supposedly has experts that answer questions in various fields. Anywho, they never successfully the question and then they had a recurring charge that I did not understand was going ot be active until cancellation. I cant remember the name of the company now. I did not notice this charge for months.
Anyway, I saw some bad reviews of them online after noticing the charges and then I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint against them. Long story short, they refunded all but the first months payments.
Not saying its going ot happen for you, but if it is worth it for you for the money you spent, contacting the BBB might be an option. Even if its not worth it for the money, it might be worth it for the satisfaction to put a ding in their rating and warn others if they dont refund.
Thanks @Bowens. Around 2013 I filed a complaint with the BBB against AT&T and got the $50 they owed me. If this company keeps lying to me I’ll file a complaint.
Yea dude especially flower companies. Because God knows men are ready to dish out large amounts of cash, especially on short notice for them. All the scammers needs is a bank account, some html skills, and some pictures of flowers.
Dude back in the day I bought a $400 bouquet online and they ended up charging me $1000.
