The tin of potatoes and the slow cooker

I’m going to put on a beef casserole in the slow cooker this morning . My stepdaughter usually does it but I’ll have a go at doing it myself . . To avoid peeling and cutting potatoes, which I’m not good at, my stepdaughter suggested using a tin of potatoes.
With ordinary potatoes they’d go in straight away , but I’m not sure if the same applies to tinned potatoes .

I’d put them in about an hour before time to serve. Just enough to heat through. Longer and they may turn to mush.

I often cook from frozen overnight. Cooking on low it falls apart the next day.

Not relevant to today, but if you like baked potatoes/jacket potatoes/whatever you call them, you can make them in the slow cooker!
