The sz app symbol

Can we have a symbol for the app instead of the letter sz and take away the name at the bottom? Just a suggestion, maybe we could have a competion to design the nicest symbol or something?

What app are you talking about? The “DiscourseHub”?

Here goes my competing design

Pretty sure it’s made that way to better identify among the Discourse sites. The decision would be up to @SzAdmin .

Thanks, i dont see the point in the name being there as i don’t like the name and it is on my phone, that’s why i thought a symbol would be easily identified and remembered.

I don’t like the word Schizophrenia on the top of the DiscourseHub as if I am out somewhere I get paranoid someone might see it on my phone

I deleted the app from my phone because it says schizophrenia. I remember it has a SZ logo too which is not very appealing, The name ‘schizophrenia’ itself is meaningless except that is how the condition is officially referred. Psychosis is more meaningful.

Psychosis is only 1/3 of schizophrenia. And the only symptoms that are treatable. Negative and cognitives are just as dibilitating.

Oh I was just saying the word psychosis is more meaningful. If someone asks if they have psychosis you can say psychosis means unusual mental condition. If someone asks if they have schizophrenia you can’t say schizophrenia means split mind, you have to say don’t worry what the name means.

Well, the name of the site is schizophrenia.com and that’s how we are found by new members. The site name won’t change, so it’s always goi g to be there. Makes ot easily identifiable.

But as for an image icon, who lnows. That’s probably possible. It would all depend on what our admin can do.

Never say never. When the name of the condition changes, schizophrenia.com will redirect to realitydisorder.com or whatever, maybe forever, but I know the name will change.

Japan is the only place I know that changed the name of the illness. And it seemed to help with stigma.
