2 pairs in the wash. Put the washing in the tumble dryer after the wash. 1 sock missing. Looked in the washer- not there. Looked in the tumble- not there.

They get stuck to the upside of the tumbler sometimes and you don’t see them.
Checked the tumble and washer 3 times .
I long ago stopped blaming the washing machine when it escalated from just socks going stray to shoes, and the whole gamut of apparel. Do you have children per chance?

Another mystery! You know what I do? All my socks are exactly the same, so when there’s one missing it’s more like there’s one extra

Did you only put 2 pairs of sock in or were there additional items with the socks?
There were additional items. I checked to see if it had got caught up in one of them.

I actually stole that sock…I needed it to complete my collection…also stolen socks is the cure for sz…too bad they are suppository…

Way before the internet was Good Houskeeping. They suggested safety pinning your docks together so they wouldn’t get lost. My mom did that I guess it was good. No lost socks.

Oh yea we use a sock bag…its supposed to be for little kid socks but it works on adult socks…if this is a big issue maybe get a sock bag…
Yeah, but if you use a sock bag, when the sock monster strikes, you risk losing all your socks at once.
