The process of Recovery

I’d like to get your opinions on if you think that recovery is possible from sz. By that I mean meaningful work or school work. I understand we may have some symptoms but they’re manageable enough where we can find work or go back to school or just enter back into life. Again I’d like to get your opinion on this.

I am working again now so I would say yes. I am going to college in October as well. It is going ok so far.

I don’t think I could handle it 5 years ago when my voices were quite bad. But I don’t hear things anymore so I am ok to work. Dont worry I am only delivering pizzas at the moment. I have a job that I am aiming for after college, I know I could not be a doctor anymore but I think I can handle what I have set out for.

Full-time since 1998 for sure. I’m med-compliant. Had positive symptoms for most of it, still have some negatives.

Yes, for some people it is possible. There are forum members who work.

I hope to be back there some day to finish my four year degree. I am going to take a single class this fall. I have hope that I can get back to a point where I can go to school as easily as I did my first semester, before I got symptoms. I graduated 2-year university with all As but dropped out my fourth year due to mental health issues. I have been recovering though and am still very hopeful that will continue.

I have a four year degree and can’t do a darn thing with it. Without a license, it’s worthless. I can’t work in the field of nursing anyway. Nursing is too stressful for my MI of sza and also I have too bad of a back to do nursing anymore. So, that’s out of the question. I also suffer from chronic insomnia and chronic and frequent migraines that prevent me from working also.

I have a volunteer job that is low stress, that I love doing and is zero pressure. And it doesn’t require any physical exertion or lifting.

And at age 59, with three college degrees, I’m past the point of going to school.

You might want to check into peer support specialist work! I’m 60 and i’m Doing it. Stressful but i’ve Learned to manage it. To become a peer support specialist just requires wrap class and two week class on peer employment training.
