The oatmeal thread

I’ve been eating oatmeal for breakfast lately.

I need ideas on what to put in it.

This morning I did bananas, walnuts, maple syrup, and sea salt.

Does anyone else eat oatmeal, and if so, what do you put in it?

Did you put both maple syrup and salt in the same oatmeal? Cause that sounds nightmarish to me haha.

Sure, if it’s not at your local grocery store you can buy it off Amazon.

I like the salty-sweet combo, it’s just a couple shakes of sea salt on top.

I always ate my oatmeal with cinnamon and a chopped up apple in it.

I buy the fruit & cream variety pack. I don’t need to add anything to it, though some fresh fruit could be good. Sometimes I make it with milk instead of water.

i just go for instant oatmeal flavored apple cinnamon but i put hella cane sugar in it. and then i DEVOUR.

That stuff is full of
additive’s and a lot of sugar.Apparently it does have nutritional value.

I eat oatmeal specifically for the soluble fiber, which is the kind of fiber that is good for cardiovascular health. But yeah, this will be true for any variety of oatmeal; anything with a lot of oats (like Cheerios) will be good for heart health. At 45 years old, I have to think of these things now, though I realize you’re older than me.

If you want fiber than chia seeds and flax seed have plenty of it. You can put them in smoothies, sprinkle them on salads or in soups and stews.

My mom has kidney disease so I read everything. Cereal has a lot of sodium. Think twice before going full bowl. Gotta watch for too much phosphorus too. It’s bad for the kidneys, dark colored pops. Stay up playa.

Golden syrup flavoured microwave porridge. I have about 8-10 grapes with it.
