The new pulmonologist said I don't have COPD

She said in so many words my old pulmonologist was ripping me off, ordering expensive medical procedures I don’t need. The last thing he said he wanted to do surgery and biopsy the nodules in my lung.

The new pulmonologist said they were just calcium deposits from when I had pneumonia and not to be concerned about them. She also said I don’t have COPD, just some emphysema and scarring. I don’t need anything other than a annual lung cancer screening because I smoked for 35 years.

My nurse practitioner recommended the new pulmonologist and that I see her for a second opinion.

Calcium deposits are VERY obvious to pulmonologists.

I thought empasemia (no idea how to spell that) and COPD were the same thing. That still sounds serious.

I have some nodules too. Getting rescanned in May. In the lungs.

My Dad had emphysema and they later called it COPD. I thought that was just a new name for it. I don’t know. He got the Covid delta virus and it killed him.
