According to AI

Studies have explored N-acetylcysteine (NAC) as an adjunct treatment for schizophrenia, particularly for negative symptoms and cognitive deficits. The median dose used in trials is around 2,000 mg per day43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054. However, research suggests that while NAC may have some benefits, its effectiveness remains uncertain, and it is not yet recommended as a routine treatment43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa16205443dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054.

If you’re considering NAC, it’s best to consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

I tried NAC and it interacted badly with Abilify, so be careful.

I felt it made Abilify less effective. So it gave me suicidal ideation.

They gave me a LOT of NAC when i overdosed on Tylenol. I didn’t see an effect on cognitive function, but it may have been all used up by my liver and never got a chance to work on my brain. I don’t know…
