The mystery of the disappearing cheese

Thought I’d have cheese on toast. Put bread in toaster. Take it out when done. Then put a mound of grated cheese on both pieces. It would have been hard to balance any more cheese on them . Grill ,to find there’s just a thin layer of cheese on both pieces .

As Pete Seeger sang "Where has all the cheese gone? "

You really need to load it up with cheese to see any results.

I don’t think I could have fitted any more cheese on without it falling off as I placed the pieces on the grill.

Lol cheese mystery…

Higher quality cheeses have more of the real thing in them.

Lower quality cheaper cheeses have more oil ratio to cheese material. They bolster up the solid composition of cheese. When you melted yhe cheese, the oil solids melted into the bread, leaving very little percentage of cheese behind.

All I know is it’s supermarket own brand mature cheddar .

Well, there are lots of varieties. I love cheese myself but have to watch calorie content.

Tried vegan cheese a while ago and it was not too bad.
