What is the longest time you have had psychosis episode with delusions and hallucinations?

Before I started treatment & was diagnosed properly, I was vividly hallucinating & had terrible delusions from age 12 to age 23. It started out more mild and got worse & worse, over time.

Now, I am medicated. I still have some symptoms, but I’m much more sane.

I lingered in my acute Psychosis for a long time maybe 4 months.

I relate to @LilyoftheValley quite a bit though bc I feel like I have a permanent ‘low grade’ psychosis since age 18, that doesn’t lift all the way. Even with trying all the meds.

Apologies to shouting out to @LilyoftheValley If this is received as though I made a false equivalency, or put words in her mouth…

I’ve only been psychotic a few times, the first time was for about 6 months before I was diagnosed and medicated, second time was for a couple weeks when I was trying a new medication that didn’t work, had to go back on the old one, third time was for a few months when I lowered my dose because the medication side effects were so bad, I refused to up the dose because of the side effects so I was put on Lurasidone, and hat has worked out well.

I’ve been free of psychosis on 60mg of Lurasidone for about 3 years now.

I didn’t have hallucinations but I was psychotic and had delusions for about a year during my last episode.
