The latest Update On the Hurricane

To quote the esteemed William Faulkner’s last words- “God bless. God #$%@!!!”

What hurricane? I don’t watch the news.

Well I hope you don’t live on the Western Louisiana or Eastern Texas coasts because those places are in grave danger right now. Also areas north including most of Arkansas won’t fare well either. Tennessee and south Missouri, and Kentucky could see strong winds and power outages before it’s done and the western Smokies could see flooding and wind as well. All of this will happen between now and Saturday. The hurricane just grew so fast it was shocking to me. It currently has 140 mph winds.

I live in West Virginia near the east coast. We’ll probably see a lot of rain. We’ve had rain recently.

Looks like my area will be ok. We live on the west side of probability cone.

I am on the east side of the storm We are already getting tornado warnings.

I saw a line of dark clouds move in, and the temperature dropped, which was nice. I would enjoy some rain as long as it doesn’t cause flooding. I’m in eastern Oklahoma.

I am in Baton Rouge, La. Far enough inland to not have to worry about storm surge but we will still get wind and rain.

The tornado warnings keep coming in on my phone telling you to get in a basement. Nobody in Louisiana has a basement.

It’s storming now.

I’m in Arkansas, and we are expecting high winds, flooding, and tornadoes. It’s supposed to be down to a tropical storm by the time it reaches Arkansas.

They are saying it might make Cat 5 now and will be the strongest storm to hit our state.

I’ve been through several tornadoes @TomCat. I hate them! I hope you don’t get directly hit by one.

Oh my gosh @TomCat! Category 5?! I guess tornadoes are the least of your concerns! I hope you’re ok

Stay safe guys…

I think we will be okay where I am. The governor is urging everyone in Lake Charles to leave.

We will still get a lot of wind here. I have a big oak tree in my backyard. My dad had one in his front yard and it fell on his house. I forget which hurricane that was. If he would have been sitting in his chair he would have been killed. He was actually on the front porch and watched it fall. Did a lot of damage.

My tree is pretty healthy though. I just hope we don’t lose power. I can deal with it and have a generator I can run for a freezer and a refrigerator but my wife likes the electricity on.

Well everyone likes the electricity on! Lol. She’ll just have to adjust like everyone else. I’m glad it shouldn’t hit you hard. And that’s so great that you have a generator for the fridge! I hate when we lose power for days on end and we lose all our food. We can’t afford to buy groceries twice.
