My mother is in hospital. She’s a trooper but had a stage 3-4 melanoma and is getting some after affects. Was on pbs for a autoimmune drug which was like $10, 000 a treatment but developed a problem with it.
I’m worried. I stay with my parents and share the bills. Mum helped me out so much in the past when I moved overseas. She totally gave me shiteloads of her retirement and that haunts me to this day…I can’t give this lady enough so it’s pretty stressful.
Send some good thoughts this way! We are a product of our environment and I’m lucky to have had a great upbringing. I know that helps and I’m learning about others who don’t have such a great go of things but I’m getting there.
I’m sorry your mom is going through this. There is no telling where I would be without my family. Remember that there are a lot of people concerned about you and your mother, and we hope she gets well. Hugs from everyone. We care.
Sending good thoughts to you and your mom. I was lucky to have great parents too. Before my mom died I got to tell her I loved her and thank her for everything she did for me. But my biggest regret in life is not saying everything i wanted to say to both my patents before they died. I’m glad your parents were supportive and good to you. Don’t make the same mistake did. I hope she pulls through but if if worse comes to worse don’t let anything go unsaid. Good luck to you and your mom @rogueone.
I’m sure your mom will be okay, but we remember people by how they made us feel. My mom is old and has health problems, and I can tell that your mom is like my mom in that she has made you feel loved. She has willingly put your needs first by making sacrifices for you, and she’s done so with humility, grace and love.
The way you repay her is not by money, but by embodying her values and using them as the foundation for the man that you are and will continue to be. Above all, your mom wants you to be okay no matter what.
