Started in 1964 to offer a thousand dollars to anyone who could prove they had paranormal powers under objective tests. It soon rose to a million dollars but by the time the challenge had ended in 2015, nobody had ever claimed the prize.
I should have entered
finally the ultimate confirmation that my delusions are not real
Yeah there’s reasons why it’s not been claimed and they are pretty solid but it’s not uncommon with our community. It’s pretty easy to think it’s all mystical and magical.
It’s funny you brought this up because I was just thinking about this same thing the other day.
Never been paid.
Probably never will be.
It is so disheartening that some of the people James Randi discredited have returned and still make money today
Sure, if you look up Uri Geller and Peter Popoff those are two famous examples of people who James Rando exposed as fakes who are still claiming special powers to this day and making money off them.
I personally believe in some paranormal stuff. I believe that dreams are the gateway to the otherside. That the mind is a part of the soul. That the whole self is pure, and passes through karma when we reincarnate. I dont think that death is the end. The more I explore the spiritual the more I find confirmation of this.
As far as the experimental stuff, it can be dangerous to the mind as the self is not equipped to handle it. The mind has a mask, the personality and ego and our consciousness does not allow us to perceive certain unknowns. We are like outdated computers, we just dont have the processing capability and for some people its too much to handle.
Energy is real. The universe and everything around us is comprised of invisible atomic energy.
Its easier to accept the simple things in life and follow the higher ground. Not obsess in the big picture all the time because it can be overwhelming. It can be frightening to think of the possibilties but also important. For one—to contibute to a more sustainable eco-system.
I watched a video of Randi debunking Geller, and it was based on claims he didn’t provide evidence, and he also out right lied about Geller. Geller would draw images from sealed envelopes or directly from peoples minds. Randi falsely claimed that Geller, nine times out of 10, would draw a simple house with a triangle on top of a square, because that’s what everyone would draw for Geller to guess. The pictures Geller drew ar SRI prove that false. Randi is just a dogmatic person, a fraud and liar.
That’s funny.
You do realize that Uri Gellar has had at least 2 lawsuits thrown out?
What video did you watch? A Youtuber?
Well, I don’t agree with that at all.
People would rather believe in sweet lies. Miraculous looking visuals. Why do you think magicians have survived for so long? Everyone knows there is no such thing as magic. Still people pay to view shows. Be part of possible skits.
That’s the reason people Randi debunked are still making money.
That’s how astrologers get away with making claims about someone’s future.
